Surge Tank

Description：

A surge tank is a storage reservoir used in large pipelines to alleviate surge pressure caused by changes in fluid flow. It responds quickly to pressure surges, stores excess liquid, and prevents vapor column separation. The primary purpose of a surge tank is to reduce surge pressure by minimizing the distance between the free water surface and the turbine.

1. Pressure Fluctuation Reduction: A surge tank effectively reflects incoming pressure waves, thus minimizing the amplitude of pressure fluctuations.
